H.O.P.E. WAS HERE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK ALBUM IS OUT!!!
I'm thrilled to share this album with you!! This is, in fact, the first album *ever* to feature my music exclusively.
As most of you already know, it's the original music I wrote for "H.O.P.E. Was Here, A Volunteer Travel Documentary", directed by Mark Denega, which explores the popular trend known as "voluntourism" through the trip of a group of American students to do volunteer work for a week in Lima, Perú.
The music is the result of a collaboration, since Mark was instrumental in helping me achieve the subtle, non-judgeamental role he wanted the music to play.
Since most of you haven't had a chance to watch the film yet, I wonder what kind of emotion this music sparks in you. As Fr. David Farrell says in the film:
"There's a thing called 'catharsis'. Catharsis is the process that goes on in a greek play: you go into the theater, you are entertained.
But there's also something that happens to *you*, to your way of looking at things, to your heart, to your soul... Your emotions are, in a sense, purged... they're cleansed. And you come out of the theater with a different way of looking at reality".
So... let me know how you feel, when you come out ;-)
The film will be available online, shortly. Check out www.hopewasherefilm.com for updates.
